Since 2014, I have been creating and designing websites based on WordPress, and since 2019 as a freelancer for web design and SEO. This is the continuous continuation of my previous employment for text and design and my many years of work in agencies, where I managed numerous website projects, especially with the CMS WordPress.
For your website, I follow your specifications, which can include corporate design and specific implementation wishes, as well as example websites. I also provide my own input if desired – you determine the balance between guidelines and creative freedom.
In the next step, I will provide you with two to three proposals for typical example pages of your new website, on which we will finalize the design. This also ensures that no unnecessary costs are incurred.
Based on this, I will create the other pages of your WordPress website, gladly in ongoing consultation with you. After completion and before going live, I will also be happy to train you and your team on how to adapt the content yourselves.
The Steps to Your New WordPress Website
Analysis. In an initial meeting via Teams, Zoom, or in person, we will discuss your ideas and wishes for your new WordPress web design, which pages should exist, and what the framework conditions are (e.g., timeline and corporate design), and what I need from you. In addition to photos and existing content, positive examples of websites that reflect your ideas are helpful.
Concept. Based on this, I will create a web design proposal with one to three example pages of your website (depending on the scope of the website), which will serve as a basis for discussion and coordination. Once you are satisfied with the result, I will create the other pages based on this. This way, we stay within an effective time and cost framework, and it is ensured that it meets your expectations. At this point, I usually issue the first partial invoice.
Implementation. In the further course, I will now implement the other pages, gladly in close consultation with you. Of course, I also attach importance to mobile compatibility (responsive web design) and can already provide you and/or your team with training on how to independently edit the content.
Completion. When all content of your website is finalized, I will carry out the final administrative measures: backup system, protection against hacking, implementation of page speed measures, and compliance with GDPR requirements. Afterwards, I will transfer the website to your hosting (I will gladly advise you on this), create redirects for previous pages if necessary to minimize ranking losses, and launch the website. Further support for future changes or assistance can be arranged (usually simply on an hourly basis).

Billing by Hourly Rate
Hourly billing reflects the actual effort 1:1 and can be more cost-effective, as a buffer and one revision round are usually included in a fixed price. The time billed is that which cannot be spent on other clients (i.e., including communication, but naturally excluding accounting).
If you choose this billing method, I will gladly provide you with an estimate, we can agree on limits or budgets, and I can inform you of the current status at any time. Billing is per started quarter hour and on a monthly basis.

Billing by Fixed Price
We can also agree on a fixed price for your website. This is based on an estimate of the corresponding effort and includes 1 hour of meeting for discussion and one revision round per submitted draft. Further revision rounds will be billed at the hourly rate (see above).
To keep the number of revision rounds as low as possible, it is helpful if you have already researched positive examples of your desired web design (see Process) and the content has been created.

Can you program my finished web design into a WordPress site?

After your website goes live, you can easily log into the backend of your website via a regular browser and adjust the content; it's no harder than Word. I will gladly provide you and your team with initial basic knowledge in a training session, which we can deepen for further adjustments after some practice.

Do I have to buy or provide images myself?
If you don't have your own images and don't want to buy expensive ones, I will gladly take over image research and provide them to you from my image database free of charge.

Preferably, I will teach you the basic knowledge with which you can easily and simply maintain your WordPress website yourself – this is not much harder than Word and is additionally protected by a backup system.
However, I can also take over further maintenance of your WordPress website after finalization. We can handle this flexibly according to your needs and my availability: If you wish for a guaranteed time budget, we can, for example, agree on 1 to 2 hours per month for smaller regular to-dos or 4 hours per week for comprehensive support and continuous development.
What security measures do you have in place for website security risks?
I fundamentally secure your website against malware, viruses, and hacking; for this, I use special security software. High-quality hosting, where WordPress system files are managed separately from the content, is particularly recommended.
Should such an incident occur unexpectedly, previous website states can be easily restored from automated backups.
Will my website be responsively optimized?
I will, of course, optimize your website for various devices: desktop, tablet, and smartphone. Optimization for additional screen sizes can also be done upon request.
