SEO freelancer from Berlin
With many years of agency experience dating back to 2014—at one agency, I was long the wild card in the annual game “Who Will Be the SEO Champion?”—I can offer you sustainable visibility instead of short-term tricks: Strategy, on-page optimization, technical SEO, and local SEO to tailor your website to search queries, AI, and users.
Sustainable SEO measures for your website
When we search Google for services—such as “SEO Freelancer Berlin” or “SEO consulting + city”—we almost never go beyond the first results page. That means websites today have to do more than just look good: they need to connect content, structure, and technology in a way that search engines recognize them as a highly relevant answer to specific search queries.
Good search engine optimization mainly means one thing: a clear content focus per page, without topic overlap, combined with content that answers all relevant user questions—ideally better and more comprehensively than the currently top-ranked pages. That’s exactly what my work is based on.
The foundation of every SEO measure is a solid analysis: Which search terms are actually relevant to your offering? How strong is the competition? Which combinations of search intent, competition, and search volume are realistically achievable? Based on this, a strategic keyword focus is developed and the content and technical structure of your website are specifically adapted to it. Depending on the initial ranking results, continuous fine-tuning follows—because SEO isn’t a one-off action, but a data-driven optimization process.
I’ve been doing this work for many years—first in agencies, later in in-house roles, and today as a self-employed SEO freelancer. I’d be happy to take a look with you at the potential in your website and how we can unlock it sustainably.
SEO isn’t a short-term trick, but a strategic discipline. The goal is to align your website so that it consistently generates organic visibility, qualified visitors, and relevant inquiries—without ongoing costs per click.
- Technical SEO to ensure your content is optimally crawled, evaluated, and indexed by search engines
- Keyword research and competitor analysis to identify realistic and strategically meaningful search terms
- On-page SEO, i.e., the targeted content and structural alignment of individual pages with suitable search intent
- Local SEO, especially for location-based searches (e.g., "SEO Freelancer Berlin")
- Page speed optimization, especially for WordPress websites, to improve user experience and rankings
- Tracking & analysis, e.g., via Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, as a basis for ongoing optimizations
SEO today: Google, AI search & new search systems
Since 2024 at the latest, one thing is clear: visibility no longer ends with classic Google search results. Content is increasingly also found and evaluated via AI-powered answer systems such as ChatGPT, Google SGE, Bing Copilot, or Perplexity.
Modern search engines and AI models evaluate content more in context, paying attention to clear structure, coherent argumentation, subject-matter depth, and trust signals.
- content clarity and semantic depth
- structured content and clean HTML markup
- consistent topic coverage (topical authority)
- positive user signals and good readability
Ole Roloff: highly experienced SEO consultant
I’ve been working in SEO since 2014—first as an SEO manager and consultant in agencies, later in-house, and today as a self-employed freelancer. During this time, I’ve supported both smaller websites with a clear keyword focus and large-scale, sometimes international web and e-commerce projects.
SEO is less mysterious than it’s often made out to be: what users type into Google can essentially be understood as a question or need. Search engines then analyze websites to determine which content answers these questions best. Successful SEO therefore means identifying the right questions and answering them convincingly in terms of content, structure, and technology.
That’s exactly where I come in: first we identify relevant search queries, then we assess competition and opportunities, and finally we align your website so it’s recognized as a particularly suitable answer—for search engines as well as for users.

Conclusion
Today, professional search engine optimization means taking a holistic approach that integrates content, technology, user experience, and strategic objectives. Technically sound, semantic HTML pays off in two ways—it enhances accessibility in accordance with the BFSG and, at the same time, improves discoverability. The goal is not just a good ranking, but sustainable visibility, relevant visitors, and measurable results—today on Google and, increasingly, in AI-powered search systems as well.
Let’s take a look together at which search terms are relevant for your offering and how we can optimally align your website with them.

Frequently asked questions
Still have questions? – I’ll gladly answer frequently asked questions here. Otherwise, feel free to send me a message.
How much does SEO optimization cost?
I charge €110 net per hour for SEO analyses and measures, billed per quarter-hour or part thereof, and including coordination. The total price depends on the scope of your website, the key pages, and whether you implement the measures yourself or I handle them together with your developers. We usually start with an SEO audit, which results in a prioritized list of actions with a binding estimated timeframe, so you only pay for what actually makes a difference. You can find all hourly and flat rates on the Pricing page.
SEO agency or SEO freelancer?
Compared to agencies, hiring a freelancer offers various advantages: for one, freelancers are often more affordable because they don’t have to pass high overhead costs on to clients. For another, they often strive for very close client contact. Last but not least, a freelancer is primarily dependent on their revenue, which not infrequently leads to exceptional commitment and dedication to implementing your measures.
Why is a professional SEO analysis so time-consuming?
A successful, professional concept requires thinking your way into your goals, target groups, and as-yet undiscovered or undeveloped potential. My job is to strategically connect all of these and develop a roadmap. Not least, Google always needs time to recognize, understand, and process changes. That’s why progress and changes don’t show up immediately—some patience is required.
What SEO tools do you use?
I work with various professional tools, including SEMRush, ScreamingFrog, Google Search Console, and others.
Which keywords are taken into account for optimization?
We’ll develop the selection of relevant keywords together. With keyword research tailored to your offering and a competitor analysis, I can identify the most important keywords we can optimize your website pages for.
What happens after search engine optimization?
For small to medium-sized websites, a one-time alignment of the pages is often sufficient, followed by later evaluation of ranking developments and, if necessary, fine-tuning of page adjustments.
For larger websites with thousands of products, the core work is initially about automated page alignment and the most optimal possible crawling by the Google bot—e.g., via structured data, internal linking, log file analyses, and indexing strategies. Websites of this size usually require ongoing SEO support and optimization.
How long does it take for SEO to take effect?
SEO has a medium-term impact: Technical improvements often take effect within a few weeks, while changes to content and structure become apparent over the course of several months—Google needs time to recognize and reevaluate changes. Anyone who guarantees the #1 ranking “in four weeks” is not legitimate. I work transparently and demonstrate progress in my reports.
