An online store that’s visually appealing and effective at driving sales—with clear product presentation, a seamless checkout process, and a solid SEO foundation.
For online stores, web design has a direct impact on sales. Online shoppers form an opinion of a store within seconds—if it seems cluttered, slow, or untrustworthy, the next retailer is just a click away. Especially in the high-end segment, customers expect a presentation that reflects the value of the products.
As a web designer and WordPress freelancer, I develop and modernize WooCommerce-based online stores that are both visually appealing and effective at driving sales. It’s not just about a beautiful design: a clean product structure, well-thought-out filters, sensibly implemented product variations, and a seamless checkout process are crucial for turning visitors into actual buyers.
A real-world example is the redesign for MIKKIS – Luxury for Dogs and Cats, a Swiss online store in the premium segment for pet supplies. The goal was to create a high-quality, understated look that emphasizes the premium nature of the products, combined with search engine optimization for better visibility on Google. The entire store was built using Elementor Pro and WooCommerce, with custom-designed store templates that maintain visual consistency across all pages.
Added to this are the technical fundamentals that determine success in e-commerce: optimized loading times, a clear URL structure, and content and keyword optimization for greater organic reach. Whether it’s a high-end lifestyle product, a boutique brand, or a technical product line—this is how we create a store that seamlessly integrates design, technology, and brand into a cohesive whole.

Today, almost any website requirement can be met based on your needs and requirements. Just ask.
1. Analysis of Product Line, Target Audience, and Logistics. During our initial consultation, we’ll clarify your store concept: number of products, variant structure, B2B or B2C or both, shipping logistics, payment methods, and desired marketplace integrations (Amazon, eBay, Google Shopping). Who is your target audience? How does your inventory management system work? This clarity is the foundation for a WooCommerce setup without any future roadblocks.
2. A concept rooted in the retail industry. You’ll receive an initial web design concept with sample pages—homepage, category and product detail pages, and the checkout process. The design is optimized for conversion: a clear funnel, trustworthy trust signals, and a mobile-first approach. First partial invoice upon approval.
3. Implementation using WordPress, WooCommerce, and Elementor Pro. Based on the concept, we develop the product catalog, filter logic, shopping cart, optimized checkout, account area, and shipping and payment method configuration. If necessary: Integration with your ERP system (e.g., JTL, Billbee, plentymarkets), tax logic for the EU and third countries, and OSS-compliant calculations. A GDPR-compliant checkout and new legal requirements (cancellation button in accordance with Section 356a of the German Civil Code (BGB)) will be implemented.
4. SEO, Security & Launch. Before Go-Live: Backups, hacking protection for e-commerce systems, page speed optimization, and full GDPR compliance. SEO for category and product pages, structured data (product snippets), and—if desired—integration with Google Shopping and Merchant Center. Training on order processing and site maintenance is available upon request. Site maintenance, new product additions, or seasonal campaigns are billed on an hourly basis.

An online store that includes training on product management, GDPR compliance, page speed optimization, five custom-designed subpages, and technical SEO is available at a fixed price starting at €4,000 net. The exact price depends on the scope of your product range and your specific requirements. Alternatively, billing by the hour is also possible.
Yes. It often makes more sense to redesign an existing WooCommerce store than to build it from scratch—as was the case with the MIKKIS project. I’ll analyze your current store and recommend what’s worth keeping and what should be redesigned.
Yes. Upon request, I can provide you with an introduction to WooCommerce so that you can manage products, prices, and inventory on your own. I’m still available to assist with any major customizations.
Depending on the scope of the product line and the availability of content, you can expect it to take about 4 to 8 weeks from the initial consultation to the launch.
WooCommerce adds a full-featured online store to WordPress—with product management, a shopping cart, checkout, payment integration (e.g., Stripe, PayPal), and shipping options. While it requires more effort than a standard content-only website, it results in a customized solution without monthly platform fees.
I ensure that all essential requirements are met: a complete legal notice in accordance with Section 5 of the German Telemedia Act (TMG), a GDPR-compliant privacy policy, a cookie notice or consent banner if required, the integration of external services (Google Fonts, Maps, Analytics) in compliance with data protection regulations, and secure contact forms. For online stores, terms and conditions and a cancellation policy are also required—I recommend consulting a specialized attorney for their legal review, while I’ll reliably handle the technical implementation.
