Web design for vacation homes & holiday rentals

A website that evokes a vacation atmosphere, builds trust, and lets guests book directly with you—without relying on expensive booking platforms.

The Benefits

The Benefits of a Professional Website for Your Vacation Rental

Web design for vacation homes & holiday rentals

A vacation vibe right from the first click

Guests book with their hearts, not their heads. A warm, high-quality design builds anticipation and conveys—even online—the atmosphere that makes your vacation home special.

Book Directly Instead of Paying a Commission

You pay high commissions through platforms like Airbnb or Booking. Having your own website with a built-in booking calendar allows guests to make inquiries directly with you—and you keep the profit margin.

Be found—even internationally

Anyone looking for a place to stay will search Google by region and travel dates. With well-planned SEO and multilingual support upon request, your vacation rental will be found by exactly the right guests.

Your Project

Implementation of the WordPress Web Design

For owners and renters of vacation homes and apartments, having their own website is the key to more direct bookings and greater independence. People looking for a place to stay are guided by pictures and the atmosphere—and often decide within seconds whether a property sparks their interest. At the same time, every booking made through a portal incurs high commissions, which can be avoided by having your own website.

As a web designer and WordPress freelancer, I develop websites for vacation rentals and hosts that feel both authentic and high-quality. The emotional impact is key: With the right photo editing and a clear, warm design, I create a website that evokes a vacation atmosphere and builds trust—the foundation for turning prospective guests into paying guests.

A real-world example is the website for Villa Margherita in Badolato, southern Italy. A complete web design concept was developed for this vacation home—from the content structure all the way through to launch. The design is based on the owner’s personal photos, which were edited to convey a natural, warm atmosphere while still looking professional. The website was enhanced by the integration of an external booking calendar that blends seamlessly into the design.

Added to this are the fundamentals for long-term visibility and smooth operation: a solid SEO foundation, fast loading times, local discoverability, as well as hosting and technical support. The result is a personalized, professional website that evokes a vacation atmosphere and successfully markets your vacation rental.

Do you rent out more than just individual accommodations? My web design for hotels and boutique hotels shows how an entire house—complete with rooms, amenities, and direct booking—can be presented.

Scope of Services

Everything Your Website Needs

The Path

4 Steps to Creating a Website for Vacation Homes & Apartments

1. Analysis of the property, location, and guest segment. In our initial consultation, we’ll clarify your rental offering: a single vacation home, a portfolio of apartments, the region and seasonality, and your target guests—families, couples, workation travelers, or international guests? Which booking platforms are you currently using (Airbnb, Booking, FeWo-direkt), and where would you like to become more independent? This clarity is the foundation for a website design that drives direct bookings.

2. A concept with a travel-inspired atmosphere. You’ll receive an initial web design concept with sample pages for the homepage, property detail page, and booking process. Vacation rental websites need evocative images, clear overviews of amenities, and elements that build trust. The design is relaxed, inviting, and, if desired, bilingual (German/English). First partial invoice upon approval.

3. Implementation using WordPress & Elementor Pro. Based on this concept, we create property galleries, amenity lists, availability calendars, inquiry or direct booking forms, and—if desired—integration with channel managers (Smoobu, Lodgify) or booking systems. GDPR-compliant, multilingual via WPML, and with training available upon request.

4. SEO, Security & Launch. Before going live: backups, hacking protection, page speed, and GDPR compliance. SEO optimized by region and property type—such as “Baltic Sea vacation home” or “Berlin vacation rental that allows dogs”—will be implemented, and old URLs will be redirected. Structured data and—upon request—a Google Vacation Rentals listing. You can handle maintenance, new seasonal content, or availability updates yourself, or I can take care of them for you.
