The Path
4 Steps to Creating a Website for Psychotherapists
1. Analysis of Practice, Procedures, and Clientele. During the initial consultation, we’ll determine your therapeutic focus: depth psychology-based, analytical, behavioral, or systemic therapy. Do you treat adults, adolescents, or couples? Do you work in a practice that accepts health insurance or a private practice—or both? Which issues are particularly important to you (trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, self-esteem)? Healthcare regulations and the strict HWG guidelines for therapists determine the scope of what can be addressed.
2. An approach that emphasizes therapeutic rest. You will receive an initial web design concept with sample pages for the homepage, a topic section (e.g., trauma therapy), and the initial contact form. Psychotherapy websites must convey a sense of security and discretion. The design is calm, clear, and free of promotional language, as required by the HWG. First partial invoice upon approval.
3. Implementation using WordPress & Elementor Pro. Based on the concept, we create pages detailing procedures, treatment areas, the treatment process, fee transparency for private practices, directions, and—if desired—a GDPR-compliant initial contact form or an encrypted appointment request form. All texts are reviewed for compliance with the German Health Services Act (HWG). Training is available upon request.
4. SEO, Security & Launch. Before go-live: Backup, hacking protection, page speed, and strict GDPR compliance (particularly sensitive when dealing with patients).
