Web Design for Engineers & Energy Consulting
A website that clearly showcases your technical profile and projects—well-organized, precise, and built on a future-proof technical foundation.
The Benefits
The Benefits of a Professional Engineering Website

Technical Expertise Made Visible
Your work is complex and demanding—your website should reflect that. A clear, precise design conveys to clients the reliability and quality that your firm stands for.

Projects That Speak for Themselves
In engineering, references are the strongest selling point. A structured portfolio system presents your projects in a clear, searchable, and search engine-friendly way.

A future-proof technical foundation
Modular systems quickly reach their limits. With WordPress, you get a flexible, expandable platform that grows with your needs—without tying you to a single provider.
Your Project
Implementation of the WordPress Web Design
For engineering firms and energy consultants, their own website is the central platform where technical expertise and project experience are showcased. Potential clients—whether government agencies, businesses, or private customers—research a firm’s qualifications and past work online before getting in touch. If the website appears outdated or disorganized, it can quickly create a false impression of what is otherwise a high-quality service.
As a web designer and WordPress freelancer with experience in technical industries, I develop websites for engineering firms and energy consultants that convey technical precision, a clear structure, and reliability. I place a special emphasis on presenting projects: Using a custom portfolio system, client projects can be presented in a structured, filterable, and search-engine-friendly way—a crucial advantage in an industry where past work speaks for itself.
A real-world example is the website for watts – consulting engineers. As part of the project, the site was completely modernized and migrated from the previous Wix system to WordPress, including hosting migration, site structure development, and design concept. At the heart of the project was a custom portfolio system based on a custom post type, which allows the firm’s diverse projects to be presented independently and clearly.
Added to this are the technical foundations for sustainable visibility: a clean URL structure, optimized load times, and semantic markup as the foundation of SEO. The result is a website that not only looks professional but is also technically sound, user-friendly, and future-proof.

The Path
4 Steps to Creating a Website for Engineers & Energy Consultants
1. Analysis: Firm, Scope of Services, and Clients. During our initial consultation, we’ll clarify your areas of expertise: structural engineering, building physics, building services engineering, energy consulting, GEG certifications, grant consulting, and BAFA/KfW applications. Who are your clients—architects, building owners, housing associations, or local governments? What construction projects are included in your portfolio? This clarity forms the foundation for a website with technical depth.
2. A concept that balances technical expertise and clarity. You will receive an initial web design concept with sample pages for the office, a specific service area (e.g., energy consulting for residential buildings), and the request for proposal. The design conveys professional expertise without intimidating clients with technical jargon. The first partial invoice will be issued upon approval.
3. Implementation using WordPress & Elementor Pro. Based on this concept, all service areas are developed, including reference projects with building types and energy performance metrics, a team with engineering qualifications, a consultation request funnel with document upload, and—if desired—a subsidy calculator or an initial GEG check. GDPR-compliant and with training available upon request.
4. SEO, Security & Launch. Before the go-live: Backups, hacking protection, page speed, and GDPR. SEO for “Energy Consultant Berlin,” “Engineering Firm Brandenburg,” and specializations—such as “GEG Certification” and “BAFA Energy Consulting for Non-Residential Buildings”—is being implemented; old URLs are being redirected. Maintenance, new reference projects, and updates on funding programs are billed on an hourly basis.

Frequently Asked Questions About Web Design for Engineers & Energy Consulting
How much does a website for an engineering firm cost?
A simple, professionally designed website starts at €3,900 (net). For more complex projects with a custom portfolio system, multiple page types, and technical SEO, the fixed price starts at €4,995 (net). Alternatively, I charge by the hour (€100/hour net for web design).
Can you migrate my existing website from Wix or another website builder to WordPress?
Yes. I have already implemented the switch from modular systems to WordPress on several occasions—including hosting migration, site structure setup, and redirects—to ensure that your existing visibility is maintained.
Will I be able to manage my projects on my own later?
Yes. The custom portfolio system is designed so that you can create and manage new projects on your own—without any prior technical knowledge and while maintaining a consistent design.
How long does it take to build a website for engineering firms and energy consultants?
Depending on the scope and availability of the content, you can expect it to take an average of 4 to 8 weeks from the initial consultation to the launch. Migrating from an existing system may require additional time, depending on the volume of data.
Can project references and technical performance records be displayed on the website?
Yes. Project references with images, technical specifications, and brief descriptions can be organized into a portfolio section—filterable by service area or project size—to specifically target the intended audience.
How do you make sure a website for engineering firms and energy consultants complies with the law?
I reliably handle the technical side: a complete legal notice under Section 5 DDG stating your chamber membership and the professional title awarded, a GDPR-compliant privacy policy, a consent banner and the privacy-compliant integration of external services. For project references I make sure that clients and property data are only named with approval. Legally binding information on professional regulations is provided by your chamber of engineers.
